regenerative medicine

At Med Sync Health and Wellness, we offer a variety of cutting-edge regenerative medicine treatments that can help stimulate the body's natural healing process. These treatments include Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC), Exosomes, and Amniotics.

PRP

(Platelet-rich plasma)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a type of regenerative medicine treatment that harnesses the natural growth factors that your body employs to mend tissue. PRP is plasma that contains a high concentration of platelets and white blood cells. These concentrated platelets also contain specific proteins known as growth factors, which aid in the healing process within our bodies.

PRP therapy aims to accelerate the repair of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and other tissues by injecting a concentrated amount of the patient's own platelets. In essence, each individual’s own healing system is utilized to alleviate musculoskeletal and skin issues. PRP injections are made by centrifuging tube(s) of your own blood to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected into the injured tissue(s) of your body. This causes growth factors to be released, which stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells produced by your body.

Amniotics

The protective medium that surrounds the amnion, the sac that encloses a developing embryo in the womb, is known as amniotic fluid. Amniotic fluid is rich in the basic components necessary for tissue repair and wound healing; including collagen, substrates, growth factors, amino acids, carbohydrates, and cytokines.  The potential benefits found in relation to the contents within amniotic fluid include anti-inflammation, reduced fibrosis, scarring, and adhesion at surgical sites/surgical wounds, and it can be employed for a variety of orthopedic injuries and disorders.

Exosomes

Exosomes are micro-vesicles that are involved in cell communication. Exosome therapy is one of the most recent regenerative medicine techniques and has been used for aesthetic applications, chronic non-healing wounds, soft tissue injuries, chronic joint pain, repetitive motion injuries, and inflammation.  These biologic molecules are deployed via injection into the damaged tissues. Exosome therapy, which is considered one of the purest forms of cell therapy, unlocks the healing potential within a person's own cells, by potentially helping to lower chronic inflammation and promoting cellular and tissue regeneration.

BMAC

(Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate)

BMAC (Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate) helps the body mend itself by using medicinal signaling cells taken from your own bone marrow. When these cells are injected directly into an injured site, they stimulate the body's natural healing response, assisting in a speedy and efficient restoration of the tissue to a healthier state. It's a non-surgical measure for a variety of orthopedic injuries, such as mild to moderate osteoarthritis, disc degeneration, and soft tissue injuries.

Medicinal Signaling Cells or Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are found in bone marrow and have been shown to potentially develop into a variety of tissues, including bone, as part of cell repair and proliferation. The benefits of MSC therapy may include healing damaged tissue, reducing inflammation, and repairing cartilage, meniscal injuries, and other types of degenerative joint disease.

Indications for BMAC:

• Tennis/Golfer's Elbow

• Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy

• Muscular injury

• Labral Injury

• Ligament Injury

• Meniscus Injury

• Achilles Tendinitis

• Neck and Back Pain from Degenerative Disease

• Joint Osteoarthritis

• And more!

The Process

Step 1: A small amount of the patient’s bone marrow is extracted from the back of the pelvis.

Step 2: The marrow is then processed in a centrifuge to produce a concentration of medicinal signaling cells.

Step 3: The mixture is then injected into the patient’s damaged tissue to promote healing.
